Contemporary Northern California Fine Art

Janet Moore is a painter who lives and maintains a studio in the coastal fishing village of Bodega Bay, California. Her minimalistic landscapes of coastal prairies, ranch land pastures, historic barns and farms are admired for capturing an authentic sense of rural Sonoma, Marin and Mendocino Counties.

“Geometry of the landscape and the architecture of pastoral life is my inspiration. Barns are evocative of all things homespun and honest.  They bring to mind the sacrifice of people who work the land.  Built by hand, barns are designed for practical purposes, yet they are remarkably beautiful and resilient.  Northern California is rich with landscape anchored by historical farms. The surrounding pasture lands are stunning with their fields of eye-popping green grass in winter and spring, followed by luminous yellow in summer… then magically the grasses all turn into hay bales marching over ridges, sewn together by fences.”
